Well, we've done it! We split 2 of our overwintered hives! We are now an Apiary of 7 hives. 🙂
We will need to name the splits once they raise up a new queen. We are open to suggestions. We are looking for names that are strong of character and powerful.

Bronwyn has been released. We will be checking in a few days to see if she and Miriel are laying.

Well one our new queens Miriel) has left her cage. Bronwyn was still in her cage, so we popped the cork at the other end to give her a little help. We will check her again tomorrow.
